CEO fraud : 70 million euros stealed from a bank

A new kind of phishing email is used and targets accountants of big companies. These emails are spoofed from the CEO of the company and ask to send over a large amount of money to foreign bank accounts. Be very careful when receiving such email and always verify the legitimacy of the sender. This is probably the kind of attack that was used to steal 70 million euros from a Belgian bank last month.

A lot of Belgian people are targeted by a new ransomware that blocks your computer and ask you to pay a fine of 100 euros. This ransomware impersonates the Belgian police (Ecops) and tells that you are pursued because you visited illegal sites. This is of course a fake site and you must never pay what they are asking. If you are infected by this virus there are different solutions, if these solutions doesn't work, we recommend you to call a technician.

New Skype virus spreading via links

A new malicious worm is currently circulating and automatically spreading itself via the Skype accounts of affected users. This worm is for example spreading via the phrase : “lol is this your new profile pic?". When clicking on the link, it installs a virus on your PC and then propagate the same link to all your skype contacts. Please be careful when clicking on links in chatrooms or on social media in general.
