Topics - Browser

The open window to the world

You use your browser to find and retrieve pieces of information from the outside world directly back to your home. On the other hand, you are also sending information away to the sites you are visiting. But don't trust your browser too much. It's not because you are in front of your PC that you are safe from malicious people. You need to act in front of your browser as if you were in the outside world. Would you give away your phone or credit card number to anyone on the street? It's the same within a browser, you have to check the legitimacy of the website first.

In our presentation we:

- Explain what do you do with your browser.

- Demonstrate that the browser is a threat.

- Show examples of unsecured sites.

- Explain HTTPS : use and verification.
