You are the target
Social engineers are the new hackers. They aren't targetting only machines any more, but also the humans sitting behind those. They don't rely only on technical attacks to get access to your organisation, but use weaknesses in the human psychology. In order to defend yourself against such attacks, there are a few basic questions that need to be answered before giving away information or giving access to somebody else. Computers have made it easier for criminals to fool you: they pretend to be your best friend, your parent or your neighbour and you won't notice. Always ask yourself: why are people asking those questions and always verify the identity of the person if you have any doubts.
